Men you must stay vigilant in the fight to be in your kids lives, pay attention and talk to your kids.
That way, you will know when your child’s behavior is different and you can ask them what’s going on. I don’t recall reading anything about this boys biological father, but maybe this could have been prevented if the mother made a better choice for a boyfriend. Mothers, is it really worth sacrificing your child to have a man? Even if you don’t believe that you deserve better, your children certainly do. Maybe this little one wasn’t able to fully communicate what was happening to him, so if your kids are toddlers, don’t ever ignore marks, bruises or behavioral changes like violent outbursts or becoming withdrawn. Parents, talk to your kids and if they are old enough to tell you something is going on…BELIEVE THEM.
A 20-year-old man was charged Friday with assaulting his girlfriend’s 4-year-old son after the boy’s family said the child was found dead under a porch at the mid-Michigan Indian reservation where they lived.
Anthony Bennett was charged in a federal criminal complaint in Bay City, where he was expected to appear in court. He’s not charged in the death of Carnel Chamberlain, but the complaint details the reported physical abuse of the child.
Hundreds of people gathered Thursday night at a vigil for Carnel near Mount Pleasant at the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe’s reservation, where he had lived with his mother and Bennett.
